Therapy Approaches

Trauma Centered Therapy

This technique helps to convert the feelings of trauma that are stuck or unprocessed in the amygdala (which is part of the limbic system of the brain where our feelings and emotions are processed) and put them in the hippocampus (which is also a part of the limbic system of the brain where our long term memories are stored) where they belong. The memories will still be there, but the feelings that go with the memories should not have an affect any longer, in other words, the pain can be released.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts by interrogating and uprooting negative or irrational beliefs.

Let's Talk

The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
